Many routes lead to your well-deserved vacation at the Triforêt alpin.resort by Falkensteiner in Hinterstoder, Upper Austria. Getting there is easy and straightforward, whether by car or public transportation.
Hinterstoder – in the heart of Austria
The Triforêt is located in the municipality of Hinterstoder, in the southern part of Upper Austria, on the border with Styria. The municipality belongs to the Kirchdorf district in the Traunviertel region and is situated in the Pyhrn-Priel holiday region.
The alpine resort is approximately 8 kilometers from the center of Hinterstoder and is located at an elevation of 1,410 meters, directly at the Höss middle station on the Hutterer Böden, surrounded by mountains, lakes, and forests.

Arrival by car
Take the Hinterstoder/St. Pankraz exit on the A9 Pyhrn-motorway and turn left. At the next opportunity, turn left towards Hinterstoder and follow the road. From the beginning of the town area, drive for another 550 meters and turn left onto Panoramastraße Hinterstoder before the Gasthof Jaidhaus (on the right). Follow the signs to Triforêt alpin.resort.

Arrival in winter
The final 9.5 kilometers lead along the paved Panoramastraße (toll road) to Triforêt. In winter, there is a requirement to use snow chains on this Panoramastraße. This also applies to vehicles with all-wheel drive (4x4). In the event of an accident, liability claims will be made if your vehicle is not properly equipped for winter conditions. Should towing services, the fire department, etc., be called, the costs will be borne by the vehicle owner.
Panoramastraße fees
The Panoramastraße to the Triforêt alpin.resort is a toll road. The one-time toll fee for arrival is covered by us.
If you arrive between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM, the staff at the toll booth will be informed of your arrival and will gladly open the barrier for you. If you arrive after 1:00 PM, you will need to purchase a ticket from the ticket machine for €14.50. The ticket machine accepts all coins and bills up to €20 or payment by debit card. We will reimburse the toll fee at the hotel. Please present the toll ticket at the reception. -
Arrival in summer
The last 9,5 kilometers are via the paved Panoramastraße to the Triforêt. This road, with its stunning views of the surrounding mountains, is one of the most scenic routes in the region. You can travel this road by car or by bus.
Panoramastraße fees
In summer, the Panoramastraße can be used free of charge with the Pyhrn-Priel AktivCard. The Pyhrn-Priel AktivCard must be applied for in advance via the Franzi App.How does it work?
- Two days before arrival, you will receive an email for the pre-check-in.
- After completing the pre-check-in, you will receive an email on the day of arrival with instructions to activate the Pyhrn-Priel AktivCard in the Franzi App.

Parking
Directly in front of the Triforêt alpin.resort by Falkensteiner, you will find free outdoor parking spaces. Additionally, on request, underground parking spaces are available for an extra charge of € 20 per night. Some of the underground parking spaces are equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.

Vignette requirement Austria
On Austria's motorways and expressways, a vignette is required. The vignette can be purchased physically at one of 6000 sales points or as a digital vignette through the toll shop.

Arrival by train & bus
As a member of "Alpine Pearls", Hinterstoder is fully committed to sustainable mobility. No matter where you travel from by train, the nearest major train station is in Linz, Upper Austria. From there, you can reach Hinterstoder’s train station directly in about an hour. At the station, you can take bus line 201 to reach the town center of Hinterstoder, which is 11 kilometers away.
